Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):

Origin just stops downloading halfway, theres a weird error message that i can ignore, abort or try again. Either three options just lead to me turning it off because none of them work. What is the problem here, im running a windows XP. Please, you better not tell me to download it again because i will break your neck i've tried that a dozen times now. I also don't want to hear 'reboot' or 'get another hard-drive', I would really appreciate the advice!

Whatever the problem is, it is not the Origin server and is happening only at your end so can only be resolved by you.
You can order an 8.6 Evaluation DVD if that's what you are trying to get:
