Hi Kingsley,

These are OPUS data files from Bruker, right? That appears to be a proprietary format, so one cannot simply use import wizard to import the file.

Does the software allow saving the data in any other format such as SPC or even simple ascii (of the desired channels?).

We will look into supporting OPUS in a future version, if the file format is published/available.

Hi,

The OPUS software is able to save the data as JCAMP DX data format. Then you can import such data file into Origin by menu File: Import: JCAMP-DX (DX, DX1, JDX, JCM).... If you can't see this menu item, please select the Customize... item to add it.

Hi,

I am using OPUS as well and what I was doing was that I was opening parameters of a spectrum in OPUS, and copying data from AB (Absortance) section to excel or staight to Origin.

The limitation was however that you can do a single file at a time

Any sucess with JXAMP DX?

Another way is to convert Opus to a more compatible audio format like MP3

Here is a detailed guide on how to convert Opus to MP3, WAV, AAC, ALAC, M4A, WMA etc at http://www.idealshare.net/audio-converter/opus-converter.html

To all who want to import OPUS file into Origin,

Origin 2016 can directly import BRUKER OPUS files. (Select "File> Import> Add/Remove File Types" to add OPUS format to a menu repertoire.)

In previous versions (of 9.x) can also use this import tool:
http://www.originlab.com/fileExchange/details.aspx?fid=162

I hope this helps you.

Hello,

It is my understanding that this is only valid for single file import. How about importing multiple OPUS files through the wizard? I was not able to make it work... Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Hi studentAgain,

> How about importing multiple OPUS files through the wizard?

Indeed, the built-in import feature of Origin 2016 or later can import multiple BRUKER OPUS files at one time.
Not sure whether the import tool in the File Exchange has this capability, but if it lacks
the multiple import capability, it must be that the built-in feature of 2016 has got that improvement.
