Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.5pro
Operating System:win7

Dear all,

I'd like to replace the usual "minus" sign (hyphen) for negative numbers by the so-called "en dash" (slightly longer). for text, I sort of figured out by switching fonts but the problem remains for the tick labels. does anyone knows how to do that ?

thanks!

You have not explained where your Tick Labels are coming from. Normally you cannot edit Tick Label text unless you are using some Tick Labels from dataset option. If that's the case, then you can use Worksheet Properties (F4) to set the Format for Data to Rich Text and double click on your text and use Ctrl+M to Insert any character you need.

Hi greg,
I was thinking attributing the "minus" sign to this "en dash" and then use the usual automatic tick labels.
I'm not sure how to use the dataset tick options.
