I recognized a strange behaviour of a plots legend in Origin 6.0 SR1 with embeding a Plot in an other application using "Copy Page" to the Clipboard, and then "Paste" into the application (e.g. Word97 or Powerpoint97 from Office97 SR2). When I use the column-label as legend as default with the line in the origin.ini
Legend=\L(%d) %%(%d,@l)\r\n
its possible to paste into word97 and get the correct legend. In powerpoint97 I can see for a short moment the legend with labels when embedding -I see the sand-glass- and then the labels disappear and the legend shows only the line or symbol and not the description. There are two possibilities: to paste as graphic but then its not editable or to write the label text into the legend as text but this is not convenient.
Has anybody an idea how to fix the problem?

Thanks
Markus

Hi Markus,

I was able to reproduce the problem. Although Word displays it correctly at first, as soon as you double-click on the graph to begin editing in Origin, the legend is redrawn and displays the column name instead of the column label.

The problem has to do with the substitution notation used in the legend. It will be addressed by our development group. For now you will need to choose from the two possibilities that you mention as work arounds.

Hi,

what about the powerpoint-problem?
Is this fixed in 6.1?

I just tried it in Origin 6.1 SR3 and it wasn't a problem.
