I am new to using LabTalk and have spent most of the morning trying to figure out how to format axis titles. Is this possible?

Someone please help this newbie.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Jason,
The axis titles are objects that you can control using LabTalk. In Origin's default graph templates, the left Y axis title is named YL and the bottom X axis title is named XB. To verify the name of an axis title, hold the ALT key down as you double-click on a title. Alternatively, click once on a title and then select Format:Label Control. Both actions open the Label Control dialog box for that object. This dialog box controls the name of the object (Object Name text box) - among other things.
Once you know the name of an object, you can control it using LabTalk script. For example, create a graph window and then open the Script window (Window:Script Window) and type:
yl.= (PRESS ENTER)
All the LabTalk properties associated with the YL object are listed in the Script window. These properties are documented in your LabTalk Help file (Help:LabTalk) in the Contents section: Object Reference|Internal Object Overview|Window Objects|User-created Visual Objects. They are also documented in the associated section of your LabTalk manual.
As an example, you could type:
yl.background=2 (PRESS ENTER)
To display a shadow background around the left Y axis title.
