Alhough not thoroughly tested, Microcal Software, Inc. has determined that it is possible to run Origin 4.1 (16 or 32 bit) on a Linux machine using Wine. To learn more about this configuration a Knowledge Base item was entered. Check it out!

In fact I've spent a long time working on Wine such that Origin will run. Currently you should find Origin5.0 is quite stable (I don't have Origin6.0 so I can't test this). If anybody finds any problems please let me know and I'll do my best to fix them.

As for printing with Origin; use Wine's internal PostScript driver (I wrote this using Origin as a test bed so it really should be quite usable).

Huw.

thats not a solution, since wine isnt
really worth of mentioning..
in my case it can run calc.exe but not
anything much better.
linux community needs linux-origin.
