Hi,

I will look into this problem and get back to you here. More information such as a list of steps that you take leading up to the crash and some computer system details (like operating system, printer driver, etc.) would help to narrow down the search for a cause/solution.

I also recommend you contact your technical support provider for personal service. Sending in a sample project file that exhibits the problem would also be helpful.

Hi again,

I did an extensive search in our bug tracking database and could find no 3D Ribbon Plot (or 3D XYY Plot) bugs involving a crash that were left unresolved in Origin 6.1. Either this is a previously unreported problem or, more likely, it is a computer system specific problem.

At this point I have two suggestions. The first would be to follow a Tech Support FAQ on what to do when you experience reproducible crashes. You can view the FAQ at http://www.originlab.com/www/support/resultstech.asp?ItemID=146.

My second suggestion repeats the recommendation in my earlier post. Mainly, contact OriginLab (Or your Origin Distributor) Technical Support providing additional details about the crash.

Thanks...

-Gary

Follow up note: This problem turned out to be a Video Driver conflict that was resolved by turning the Hardware Acceleration slide (in Display Properties) down a notch. If anyone ever experiences a crash be sure to follow the FAQ mentioned above and/or contact Technical Support.
