I want to digitize a graph got by recorder.and according to the instruction, i paste the JPG file onto the white graph window, name it "image",then attach it to the page, click the "digitize" button left to the graph window. But there is always an attention window, read as"Error! you must paste an image onto this graph window and attach it to the page. Then name the object"Image"". I am confused by this. My origin version is 6.1.
if anyone know the reason, please help me.thanks a lot!

The "Digitizer" tool hasn't been updated in a while. In fact, our website indicates it's an Origin 5.0 tool. It worked in the release version of Origin 6.0, but beginning with 6.0 SR1 (or SR2, I can't recall at the moment) we added a system object named IMAGE that was used for exporting graphs as image files. That object will interfere, producing the problem you described.
You can fix the problem by:
- Selecting File : Open from the Origin menu.
- Selecting LabTalk Script (*.OGS) from the Files of Type drop-down list.
- Browsing to your Origin folder (if you aren't there already).
- Selecting the DIGITIZE.OGS file.
- Click the Open button.
Anywhere the word "image" appears can be changed to something else - "dimage" for example. (Actually, the change is only absolutely needed in two places, but change everywhere if you aren't sure.) Save the DIGITIZE.OGS file.
Now, go back to the graph and rename the image object with the new name ("dimage").
The tool should work now.
I think this tool is due for an update, so I'll put it on my list of Things-To-Do. Check back in a month or so for newer version that will be easier to use.
