Origin Ver.8.5 and Service Release 1 (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Win7

Does anybody know if it is possible to insert a diameter sign into an Origin Plot in a simple way?

Not sure what a diameter sign is, but if one of your fonts has it, you can insert it by pressing Ctrl+M when editing your text.
