I am interested in using a quadratic binding equation to fit binding data although origin should have this equation in its functions already, it doesn't so now I am trying code builder. The equation I am using is y = ((E + x + KD) + ((E + x + KD)^2 - 4*E*x)^(0.5))/2*E. For some reason it just keeps saying fit did not converge, reason unknown. Here are some general data points.
x: 60, 30, 22.5, 15, 7.5, 0
y: 1, 0.84, 0.7, 0.54, 0.29, 0
I don't know what to do about this and it is so annoying because binding studies are so common this equation should be included in the software.

Hi,

The simulated curve from the equation you're using doesn't seem to follow the trend of your data points, it is possible that you need to find very good initial parameters in order to carry out a good fit, but I didn't see any parameter combination which fits your data easily, so you may also need to double check the equation itself to see if there is any typo.
