Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8
Operating System: windows 7

Dear OriginLab team,

I am using a monochromator from Horiba Jobin Yvon which uses Synerjy 3.5. I need to acquire spectrums I see with Synerjy in real time with Matlab to perform computation on them. Of course I can not perform the same directly with synergy or either with Origin, I need specific algorithms of Matlab.

I want to be able to run a spectrum acquisition from matlab and afterwards import the corresponding spectrum in Matlab. Actually I only need to import a two rows vector.

Do you have any idea of how I can perform it?

Best regards

Hi,

Origin has a MATLAB console tool that lets you send/receive data from Origin to MATLAB:
http://www.originlab.com/www/helponline/Origin/en/Category/MATLAB_console.html

So you could fist acquire the data into Origin, and send the data that you want from Origin to MATLAB to perform your computation, and then get the results back to Origin, all using this console?

Hi,

Sorry to reply so late but I was in vacation. Thanks to you, I understand how I can move data from Origin to Matlab. In fact in my experiment I need the Horiba Jobin Yvon monochromator to be running all the time. At one random moment, I need to take a spectrum. So I want to find the command line in Origin, OriginC, Matlab or whatever, which allows me to acquire a spectrum.

Is it possible to achieve it with Origin OEM?

Best and sorry again for the delay

Hi,

The console can be used manually to select a particular worksheet column(s) from Origin to be sent to MATLAB.

If you are looking for some automated way, then that may need change to the code that sends the data to Origin. You will need to contact Horiba Jobin Yvon, as they did the customization themselves, it is not part of standard distribution of Origin.
