Hi All,
I was wondering if it is possible to change the defaults of graph window so that whenever we plot a graph it shd come in a particular way..e.g. it shd have all the axis top, left, bottom, side and say all the ticks and left ticks in and right ticks out or something like that!.. I know a way to do that is using graph templates but is there a way to change the defaults in graphs as well?
Please inform.

Good news, if you know how to use graph templates then you're already done! All you have to do is edit the default origin templates to suit your needs. For example the default line graph in Origin is line.otp, customize this template save the settings and then try plotting again and you will be using your customized template. I suggest that you backup all the templates before customizing them and save a backup of both customized and renamed originals, just in case something were to happen.

Hope this helps.

Hi,

Just an additional info...
You can find the build-in graph's template file name which you want to customize for your purpose if you look at the description of each graph type in the chapter of "Plotting: Origin's Build-in Graph Types" chapter in the Origin Help ("Help:Origin" menu) or Origin User's manual (for 6.1 or older).
