Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.6.0 (64 bit) Sr1
Operating System:Win7

I know how to do "subtract reference data" and also read its principle from Origin's website. In my case, since the coordinates in two data sets are different, so Origin makes interpolations for each data set before subtraction. My question is how exactly does Origin do interpolation. For example, is it an average of every N points (if so, what is N?)? Or is it a spline-fit through the data?

Thank you for the reply in advance.

Hi edwardhuang,

Sorry that we do not mention it in the document, but it should be linear method to automatically interpolation when Subtract Reference Data. We will update our document accordingly.

If you would like to use spline, you might try to interpolate manually from menu "Analysis-->Mathematics-->Interpolate..." to synchronize coordinates, and then do subtraction.

All the best,

Meili
