Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 9.00
Operating System: Win7

Dear All,

I have a question regarding the Voigt fit. I would like to fit the Voigt function to a spectrum of peaks, which clearly have a Voigt profile.

When fitting with Voigt, it usually looks nice and Xi2 is ok, but unfortunately, the uncertainty for the centroid is huge for unknown reason.

I don't have this problem, when I am using the Lorentz-function or Gaussians separately. Uncertainties are small as they should.

However, I really would like to use Voigt instead. Is this just normal for fits with Voigt functions, is there a standard procedure (fix parameters, playing with widths etc.) or is this a bug?

It would be great, if someone could help me. Thanks a lot.

Best regards,
Daniel

We can't reproduce the problem using test data. It may only exist in some special data.

Could you send us your data? Then we can see what causes the problem and fix it.

To send a file to us, click Send File to Tech support button in the top right of the forum.

Thanks.
