Origin Ver. and Service Release : OriginPro 9.0.0 SR1
Operating System: Windows 7

Hi,

I am using Peak Analyzer in origin to fit no. of Gaussian peaks in the spectrum. I want to modify the steps of peak analyzer. Or In general, I want to make a new function that is summation of linear function and Gauss function. To get the fits of spectra, I do not want to remove background. So function will take background counts as linear function and peaks as gauss function.

Original Gauss function is,
y=y0 + (A/(w*sqrt(PI/2)))*exp(-2*((x-xc)/w)^2)

I want to modify to y = linear function + Gauss function
y = p0 + p1*x + (A/(w*sqrt(PI/2)))*exp(-2*((x-xc)/w)^2)

where, p0 and p1 is coefficient of linear fitting. (y = a*x+b)

I tried to make in function builder, but could not able to compile it. It gives wrong values.

Help and suggestions would be appreciated !

Best,

chintan

Since you have OriginPro you don't need to define such a function because the baseline can be a function which itself is fit along with the peaks.

For "Baseline Mode", choose "User Defined"
Pick two points to approximate your linear baseline
Change "Connect by" to "Fitting(Pro)"
Change Fitting "Function" to "Line"

Origin simultaneously optimizes the baseline linear function along with your peaks.
