Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System:win7
Hi,
Can we plot linear trend with origin? Suppose we have daily average data of some concentration which can contain some data gaps as well can say about 8-10 years or less. Can the Origin de-seasonalized the data and by some standard algorithm can calculate the trend in data?

Thanks
Gracy

Hi Gracy,

Origin currently doesn't have specialized time-series tools such as for de-seasonalization using ARIMA (autoregressive integrated moving average) model, though simple smoothing method like 12-moth moving average is easy to do by adjacent averaging from "Analysis: Signal Processing: Smooth" menu. Then, you can run the linear regression from "Analysis: Fitting: Linear Fit" menu.
