Origin Ver.9.0.0 and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Windows 7

Hello,
I don't know how to search help for this, so I open a new topic:
I have a matrix with very few data (7x7) which represents a crystal surface distribution; I would like to plot a 2D coloured image without the contours and with much more color shades: in practice I would like to increase the resolution of the image letting Origin guess the behaviour from point to point. I cannot use any fitting function.
It is not so important for me to be accurate but I would like to present the result in a decent manner.

Hope that you understand the question, I will try to be more precise if it is not clear.

Hi Manu89,

To hide the contour lines in a contour plot, first open the Plot Details dialog ("Format: Plot Properties" menu),
choose "Colormap/Contours" tag. Then, press "Line..." header of the mapping table, and turn OFF the Show on
Major Levels Only check box, and check Hideo All button. (Graph1)

Regarding the "resolution" of the plot, it is ambiguous: either how the contour levels are drawn, or increase
the dimensions of the matrix. See the screenshot below.

You can increase the levels of drawn contours. (Press "Level..." header of mapping table).
Here, the corners between given data points are rounded because the number of points are sparse. (Graph2)

Also, you can increase the dimension of the original matrix. ("Matrix: Expand" menu) If you make a contour
from this, eventually you get less rounded corners as more "faithful" to the original given data. (Graph3)

Hope this gives you a hint.
