Hello,
i want to employ the euler constant, but I can't find any information about how to implement it easily.
I got an graph with a linear y-axis (left) of logaritmic values (ln a). I want to have a second y-axis on the right side which is linked to the left one via e^Y1 resulting in the labelling with the values a.
what have I to type for the euler constant instead of E^ ?

Hi,
Please try e^Y, no parentheses.
then change the Y scale type to Ln.

I tried your propsal, however e^Y1 doesn't work as well. :(
e^5 should be approx. 150 and e^9 approx. 8100.
so I think it does'nt use the right number for "e"
I could do it with the work around using 2.718^Y1, however I thought there has to be a more accurate solution...
However, I got an additional problem:
How can I define the increment to an even number of e.g. 500 units, instead of the logaritmic scale?
If I just switch the scale back to "linear" from "Ln" it results in a incorrect scale (compare e.g. the position of 8000 units).
As you can see I did s similar thing to the x-axis using "reziprocal shifted", which of course doesn't work here.

Maybe you can try exp(Y1) and exp(Y2).

Sorry, I couldn't find a way to do in older versions; But in the latest Origin 9.1, you can
specify the major ticks and the tick labels at any specified arbitrary position:

Great! Knowing what I have to look for, I found it also in my version. (OriginPro 8.5.0G SR1)
However, I got the suspicion, that it is still not working correctly: If the scale is set to linear it depicts as follows:
I already played around with the scale properties a lot...
If the scale is set to "ln" instead of "linear", it seems to just label the major ticks with the value from the column, however not moving the tick to the correct place (Scale should go from ~90 to ~13300 units)
I tried it additionally with OriginPro 9G on the laptop of a colleague: I understand know that labelling major ticks ("Beschriftung Hilfsstriche" in the picture) does only concern the labeling even if it says there "by data set" (data set could also be "monday, tuesday ...)
By setting the scale from linear to "ln" the labelling is correct in OriginPro 9G, however when chosing "major ticks by data set" (Groe Hilfsstriche aus Datensatz) the scale labelling dissapears completely.

The labeling reappears if the first entry in the data set maches with the low limit in the scale, which is calculated via equation (in the link axis) from the other axis ( or at least approximately maches)

This problem has been fixed in Origin 9.1 as shown below:
