Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): Origin8.6 SR1
Operating System: Windows7
Hi Guys,
I am a newbie to Origin and I want to calculate the root mean square deviation (RMSD) of my data. However, I do not find any keywords in the Origin User Guide. Does anyone could kindly instruct me on dealing with it? Thanks a lot.

By the way, I have imported my data into a column. And I found it is really easy to plot. I just do not know how to calculate RMSD of the data.

Sincerely,
Huan

Hi, Huan Wang

You can get root-mean-square deviation from the stand deviation but please set Variance Divisor of Moment as N in the Statistics on Columns dialog.

The dialog can be open by selecting Statistics:Descriptive Statistics:Statistics on Column menu

To learn more information for the algorithm, please go to this page
