Hi,

I'm having trouble using the Palette Editor with the given OriginPro Version. I think I understood all the features of the dialogue (which has changed with respect to 8.5), but I feel there is something missing to set the color values at the bounderies. I tried to drag the points in the preview, but nothing changes and there is no "refresh button" or similar. Saving only saves the unchanged palette. Is this a bug or am I completely missing something?

My work-around thus far is to create the palette with OriginPro 8.5 and to save it as a theme. However this is not nice since the license is not valid any more and sessions are restricted to 3 minutes:)

Hi Jan,

Our Palette Editor tool isn't easy to use.

So usually we recommend user to use other Palette editor softwares they are familiar with to make pal files since it's Microsoft’s (.pal) file format.

It seems Paintshop software can create (.pal) file. You can also use a function to convert Matlab’s colormap (an N*3 matrix) to pal file.

Thank you for your answer! Using the MatLab function worked for me, and their palette editor is realy comfortable and intuitive to use.

There's a nice palette editor here: http://joyfulcoder.net/paledit/
as long as your browser has Flash installed.
The file created can be copied to your Origin Palettes folder or a folder named Palettes you create in your User Files Folder.
