The file size of my Origin 7 Project grows when I am saving!
The sum of the files sizes of the Wks+Graphs in the project explorer is lesser then 2MB. But the file size of my project is 11MB and it grows!
I often import ASCCI Files and delete them after I look at them!
Maybe Origin doesn't delete them carefully like Microsoft Word do!
Even when a use "Save as" the file size won't be smaller!

I suspect that you are creating temporary datasets somehow and not deleting them. Enter 'list s' in the script window to get a list of all datasets and examine the list for superfluous datasets. The commands 'del -a' and 'del -as' will get rid of most of the temporary variables and datasets created by Origin (most of the time their names start with an underscore '_').
