Dear All,

I have a question regarding the labeling of individual spots on origin vesion 9.1.

I am creating a volcano plot for microarray data, my input list has three columns: gene name, log2 M value and p value. the graph consisits of log2 M value on x axis and p value on Y axis.
what I would like to see the labeling of each spot (corresponding to gene name) on the graph (as it gets unprecise if some one tries to label the spots manually). I am not actually sure if this is possible on origin but would like to know your opinions as well..

thanks!

Hello,

Double click your plot to open Plot Details dialog.

With plot selected on left panel, activate Label tab on the right.
Check Enable.
You can change Label Form to be the gene name column.

Then each gene name will show next to the point. U can also check Auto Reposition to Avoid Overlapping and leader line settings to link the label and the point with a line.

Thanks, Snow
