Hello all,
I am trying to remove a background (linear baseline) from my data and I am using peak analyzer for this. I am able to get the required baseline and also able to subtract it from my data, but the issue is I am not able to save the corrected data. The plot appears as a temp file and disappears as soon as I finish with the peak analyzer. It does not give me any options to save the corrected data. I have also looked into the Peak analyzer dialogue theme, but didn't find any options there.
I am using Origin 8 on windows 7. Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I am not sure what was your goal set in Peak Analyzer.
Subtracted data can be output in dialog when your goal is Subtract Baseline or Fit Peaks(Pro) in the first page.
However, there is a workaround to help you output the temp subtracted data in other goals.
1. After you subtract baseline, double click on the plot on the Preview graph to open the Plot Details dialog.
2. Click Workbook button, which locates in the bottom of the dialog.
--> It will active the temp workbook with subtracted data
3. Choose menu "Window: Duplicate"
The duplicated workbook will be kept after you finish the Peak Analyzer

If you were using the "Subtract Baseline" goal, then the "Subtract" button on "Subtract Baseline" page is just for previewing the result - source data/graph will not be changed after you click the Finish button. Instead, 2 new columns with long names "Subtracted_Data X1" and "Subtracted_Data Y1" will be created to the worksheet, representing the baseline-subtracted data. You can plot the "Subtracted_Data Y1" column to see the result.
If, you would like "Subtracting Baseline" to modify your source data, then, on the last page of Peak Analyzer, you can click the right-pointing triangle button after the "Subtracted Data" node, and select "<input>: XY = input XY".

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. The goals set in peak analyzer are: Integrate Peaks, Create Baseline and Find Peaks. How do you add/change these goals? I think I need to bring in the Subtract Baseline into my goals. Please let me know how I can do this.
I did try the "duplicate" option before as you mentioned, but the duplicate window also closes as I exit the Peak Analyzer. The other thing I did was to save the temp file (subtracted graph)and that worked. I think once I get the goals changed, then the subtracted data should show up.

Thanks for the reply. I think the issue is with the goals set in the peak analyzer. Right now I do not have the subtract baseline as one of the goals set. I need to figure out how to add this(As mentioned in my earlier reply on the post).

Hi, AbbyR,
If you don't see "Subtract Baseline" goal on the start page of Peak Analyzer, it's probably that you are not using the latest Service Release (SR6) of Origin 8.
I would suggest updating your Origin to SR6 from main menu Help: Check for Updates.

Peak Analyzer
