Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): b9.2.272 Operating System: Windows 7
I wish to create a composite graph of sorts. I want a left portion of the graph with the y-axis at 100 and a right portion of the graph with the y-axis at 3. In other words I want to show a right portion of the graph zoomed in.
I don't see a way to do this. I've been googling and reading the manual and still haven't found anything. Would appreciate some help |

Hi,
Please see the zoom graph below:
http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Zoom-Graph
Is it close to what you want? If not, please tell me more details or show us an example.
Thanks, Shirley

Hi eugene,
I should add that when you work with Zoom graphs, you can resize and move the zoomed section of your plot to the right of your main graph. However when you move or resize the main graph (the section on the left) it will cause the zoomed section to move or resize with it. To modify the two independently you'll need to first go to the Plot Details dialogue, select the zoomed layer, and in the Size/Speed tab modify the units from "% of Linked Layer" to "% of page", allowing you to freely move your main graph without having the zoomed section move with it.
Also another rather obscure way of doing what Shirley described is to take the scale-in tool (right below the pointer icon), and while holding CTRL, drag a box across the section of data you'd like to zoom in on. This will generate an "area of interest" box on your original graph and create a zoomed-in plot of the section in question.
And again, as Shirley said, if you're talking about a different type of graph altogether, just let us know!
