Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.0
Operating System: Windows xp

Hi everybody,

I have created the following graph in origin. I want to have this graph only in gray scale but it seems origin doesn't allow me to do this. Is there any way?

Thanks
Ned

Hi Ned,

The 3D Bars graph is created by the XYY datasets, right?
If so, you try to double-click on the graph to open the Plot Details dialog, and then custom the setting as following image:

Thanks
Jacqueline

Hi Jacqueline,

Thanks for your reply.

I have created this chart by a 24x6 Matrix and the plot detail window of the graph is as the following. Is there any way to change the colors by matrix dataset?

Thanks
Ned

We don't support custom color in Origin 8.0. You may need to organize all your data in a worksheet and plot them as 3d xyy bars.

In latest Origin 2016, if you plot 3d bar from matrix.
Double click the plot to open Plot Details. You can set fill color to Incremental. Then there will be a Color List tab to control color list.

BTW, I saw the x and y axis tick labels. Did you manually put them in axis dialog?

In later versions, support virtual matrix so that you can create your 3d data in a table in worksheet.
Put x, and y value or text/date/time in 1st column and 1st row (or even column label area) respectively for example. x, y values don't even need to be evenly spaced.
Put Z values in grids of the table.

Thanks, Snow Li
