I have origin 7.0 and I am having problems plotting a double y-axis column graph
I have two different Y-values (with Y-error) for the same X-Value. I know how I get a line graph with double Y-Axes .But I don't know how to get column bars separated from one another. If I change the graph to column graph, then I get one column over the other and not side by side.

Origin 7 is very old. We didn't have direct control to show bars from different layers side by side. You have to create empty columns in worksheet, etc. to do this.

In later versions, we added the control. After changing both plots as column plots, you can go to Miscellaneous tab of Graph level in Plot Details dialog. Check "Column/Bar Graph/Offset Across Layers" to get what you want.

We also have separate Double-Y toolbar for newer Origin versions on our File Exchange page to easily manipulate double Y plot

Thanks for your reply. Can you describe exactly how to do it in Origin 7.0. We have many licenses of origin 7 and unfortunately to upgrade to higher origin versions will take time.

You can try if Greg's step on http://www.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2838 works.

Thanks, Snow
