Origin Ver. 9.1 and Service Release 1(Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Win 7

Hello everybody,

I am wondering about wht is the correct systax for using methods like "GetSize()" on a dataset within a tree:

>>dataset aaa
>>tree ccc
>>aaa[1] = 1
>>aaa[2] = 2
>>ccc.a = aaa
>>ccc.a=
ccc.a=--
>>ccc.a[1]=
ccc.a[1]=1
>>ccc.a[2]=
ccc.a[2]=2
>>ccc.a.GetSize()=
ccc.a.GetSize()=--
???
>>(ccc.a).GetSize()=
Variable nicht definiert: CCC.A).GETSIZE(

??? Apparently, wrong syntax

aaa.GetSize()=
aaa.GetSize()=2

works of course. Do I have you use such a workaround?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

To access the vector inside of a tree, you will need to copy it to a dataset.

For your case, you need to define another dataset:

dataset bb;

bb = ccc.a;

bb.GetSize()=;

Regards!

Yes,thanks for your answer.

That is how I am currently dealing with this. I was just curious, if there was another option. However, thanks again.
