i could not locate the repeat parameter option in Origin 8. is it really not there, or i miss something?

Would you please tell us more details about your problem?
If some features is not supported in Origin 8

You can consider to try our current version Origin 2016 to see the improvement

and now i downloaded 2016 and starting the same. thanks.
