Hello there, i have a problem when i try to import a dat file or txt file in origin , the columns are multiplied by 10^5.!!! I mean Origin doesn't preserve the format of the numbers from the dat file, what should i do?

Hi niobi,

I suggest to try Import Wizard first so that you may get the insight what happened because this tool
visualized how Origin interpreted the format of your input data; I suspect something related to some
settings of the field separators or the decimal point (e.g., using a comma as a decimal point in
the convention).

You can also post some rows of your actual data in this forum post so that people can understand
better what happened.

Yeah that's it, i changed the format of the dat files, i mean i replaced , with . and the problem solved.
