This is what I would like to do: http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Legend-ManualControl

But, I am somehow not getting it right.

Legend:

Fill-
Solid Rectangle: SampleA
Open Rectangle: SampleB

Shape-
Diamond: Time1 for either sample
Circle: Time2
Square: Time3
Purple: Time4
Star: Time5

Color-

Hi smburu,

Do you think the following label strings produces what you wanted?
\p80(Fill:)
  \l(O 1,1,1,12,1,0,10,1,1,2) \p80(SampleA)
  \l(O 1,1,2,12,1,0,10,1,18,2) \p80(SampleB )
\p80(Shape:)
  \l(O 1,5,1,12,1,0,10,1,1,2) \p80(Time1)
  \l(O 1,2,1,12,1,0,10,1,1,2) \p80(Time2)
  \l(O 1,1,1,12,1,0,10,1,1,2) \p80(Time3)
  \l(O 1,18,1,12,1,0,10,1,1,2) \p80(Time5)
\p80(Color:)
  \l(O 1,1,1,12,1,0,10,1,1,2) \p80(our data)
  \l(O 4,1,1,12,1,0,10,1,4,2) \p80(methodA)
  \l(O 2,1,1,12,1,0,10,1,2,2) \p80(methodB)
  \l(O 16,1,1,12,1,0,10,1,16,2) \p80(Time4)

which produces the following legend:

I have created the above strings with a help with my small tool (LegendSymbolMaker):

If you like to try this tool, you can download its file from:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/69449127/FilesToUsers/LegendSymbolMaker.opx

You can drag-and-drop the downloaded .opx file onto your Origin workspace to install.

Hope this helps.

Hi smburu,

> the link is not working for me. Not sure why. Is that the correct url?

Could you please try to right-click the link, and choose "Save Link As" flyout to save the file?
I have asked people around, and this way seems working okay.

Hope this works.
