Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 2016
Operating System: Windows 10 64bit

Hello there,

there seems to be a problem with my self-made non-linear fitting function that I try to use on my data.

The function should look like this:

x = A*(900-y)/(y-B)

with A around 100000 and B around 180

Now when I try to fit this, Origin wants A to be around 180 and B around -150000 with a huge error, or when I try to define borders around the expected values then the fitting cannot converge.

I have the feeling that I am missing an important thing but I dont know which.

Hi,

Can you email a sample of your data along with the Fitting Function Definition File (FDF) for your fitting function? You can email them to tech@originlab.com. The FDF file is located in your User file folder in the "fitfunc" subfolder. We can be better able to find out what is going on if you can do that.

And please include your serial number when emailing us.

Thanks,
Chris Drozdowski
