Hi,
I've noticed that Origin does not provide the p value for non-linear curve fit. I read it is possible to calculate the P value by creating a script and running it in the After Fitting dialog box, however I don't know how to generate this script, can someone help me? *I'm currently using the allometric 1 function.
Thanks a lot,

Hi Ingrid,
When you do fitting in Origin, Origin supports to output two kinds of p values,
Prob>|t| (Prob>|t| is a p-value for t-test, which is a probability with a value ranging from zero to one. ) and Prob>F (Prob>F is a p-value for F-test, which is a probability with a value ranging from 0 to 1. )
See the help page below: http://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/NLFit-Algorithm
Which one are you talking about? Could you please give us more details?
Thanks, Shirley

Thanks Shirley for replying,
I had the following statistc results for my non-linear curve fit between the variables length of otoliths (CO) e total length of fish (CT):
PARAMETERS CO (mm) Number of Points 44 Degrees of Freedom 42 Reduced Chi-Sqr 0,02424 Residual Sum of Squares 1,01829 R-Square(COD) 0,94743 Adj. R-Square 0,94618 Fit Status Succeeded(100)
STATISTICS Value Standard Error t-Value Prob>|t| Dependency CO (mm) a 0,01341 0,00301 4,45839 6,04685E-5 0,99453 CO (mm) b 1,13431 0,05225 21,71126 0 0,99453
SUMARY
a b Statistics Value SE Value SE Reduced Chi-Sqr Adj.R-Square CO (mm) 0,01341 0,00301 1,13431 0,05225 0,02424 0,94618

Both p values(t and F tests)are equal to 0. I think this is quite odd..does that mean that the p value is actually 0 or what?
Thanks again, Ingrid
