Is it possible to keep the axis scales constant when plotting from a graph template (can you save them with the template ?)
Thanks Alex

I believe that by default teh scale remains constant when templates are saved. This is how I use them to make plots over identical ranges for quick visual comparison. Are you seeing something different? If you are plotting from a script look for a "Rescale;" command.

My data do not have identical ranges, but I want to plot it into graphs with defined axis scales. But this doesnt happen, when plotting into a template. Maybe a script would be the only solution

Open the Axes dialog. On the Scale Tab, you'll see the 'Rescale' drop-down list. Scroll up and you can set this to Manual. This will fix the From and To values.
When data is plotted into a layer, the axes automatically rescale to show the entire data. When the Rescale is set to Manual, the axis values will remain fixed.

Apparently, this is not available in Origin 6.0 and earlier. Probably it's available only in Origin 7.0 According to the OriginLab representative (APS March Meeting 2002 industrial show), this was added in response to numerous customers' complaints about this "automatic rescale" feature.
In Origin 6.0 (maybe 6.1?) and earlier you can do the following: Open "Layer Contents.." dialog (rightclick on the plot) and uncheck "Rescale on OK" item. Then save the template. If you open the new plot with that template it will not automatically rescale it.
