I've performed a third order exponential decay fit on a data set and then closed the file. Upon re-opening the file, I can no longer perform the same tasks, even by replotting the raw data and going through the exact same steps without getting an error telling me that the paramaters are not properly initialized. What could be causing this problem? I've been performing the fits via the analysis menu, but have also attempted to go through the fit wizzard with no luck. Any advice appreciated. Using verson 7, sr3.

Hi Mark,

Open your fitting function in the Advanced Fitting Tool and select Parameter Initialization under the Scripts menu. Make sure Enable Automatic Parameter Initialization is checked, as well as Use Origin C. (If it's a built-in function you may have no control over the latter setting.) Save the function after making any changes.
