I hear recent versions of Origin have an option for Levene and Brown-Forsythe within one sample calculations. Is there any way to evaluate this calculation method? Specifically I am trying to find the model of statistical equations used to determine this calculation. I have in the past used analysis software whose developers could do with a good look at a basic Stats book. Thanks to anyone who can help. Also against what standards/data sets were these calculations validated?

Hi,

The Origin 7.0 One-Way ANOVA tool contains both the Levene and Brown-Forsythe tests for equal variance. They are fully documented in our help file from which the image below is copied.

We continuously test all analysis features against other published references as well as against several standard analysis software packages.

Data used to test the One-Way ANOVA tool came from many sources including the site below.

I hope this is helpful.

Gary
