Hi there,
I have a problem plotting a layout (origin version: 7G Rel) with three graphs on it on our HP Inkjet 1700 plotter. Depending from the network user who is plotting the layout page there are data or axis missing. The plot preview looks ok. Limiting the number of data to be plotted does not work either. Does anybody have an idea how to plot the layout all right?

Not sure if it works, or not, but anyway, did you try to change the check box settings of "Enable color as gray scale", or "Use simplified colors" in Print dialog box, ON or OFF?

thanks for your reply. Printing the layout in grayscale or with simplified colors does not work either. There is data missing again (in another graph this time). There were no problems printing origin color layouts before.
Could it be a problem of the page layout / print area settings? |

What version of Windows are you using? What version of Windows on the network? Are you able to print a more simplified graph or layout with no problems? If your graph and/or layout page contains many text objects, and other objects, the printer might be running out of memory during printing.
You mentioned that you used to be able to print with no problems ( There were no problems printing origin color layouts before. ). Try printing out a graph/layout page that used to print fine. See if that still prints fine or doesn't print well now.
Did you install any new software or drivers between the time you had no printing problems and now?

Dear Lorraine,
I am using Windows XP on my computer. We got a new server when the problems occured and the printer driver has been installed when the problems started. Our net administrator told me that the printer driver is not the problem.
Layouts that did not cause problems before are still printed fine but the file size is smaler.
Could it be a problem of page set up? Does Origin automatically adjust the page formate to the print field of the printer? Perhaps the data get lost when the program is adjusting the page formate. How can I control if my Layout is within the print field?

Hi,
I can provide two remarks but I am not sure if they will work for you.
1. I remember faintly that I experienced printing printing problems under WinNT4 with an HP laser printer. The problem was resolved by changing from the Postscript driver to HPPCL or vice versa.
My tip: Always doubt the kind of 'no problem on this side' from network administrators.
2. I experienced formatting problems on a Win2000 machine when I was logged in without administrator priviliges.
