Hi,

I checked through the database and saw that there had been problems accessing the labtalk help file after downloading SR2. There seems to be a similar problem with the SR4 download. I just executed SR1, started origin, closed it again, then executed SR4, then downloaded the help files via Help\Check for updates.

labtalk.chm can't be accessed, neither through origin help nor by trying to access it directly via explorer. Message when trying to use explorer is: cannot open the file: mk:@MSITStore:C:\Program Files\OriginLab\OriginPro7\Help\labtalk.chm

I use win2k, OriginPro 7 SR4 v7.0552(B552).
I already tried deleting labtalk.chm and downloading it again via Help\Check for updates ...

Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks in advance

Claudia

Hi Claudia,

I also have SR4 and the updated help files and they work fine for me. These are the files/dates in my Help folder..

labtalk.chm (4/21/03)
origin.chm (4/21/03)
originc.chm (4/21/03)
programguide.chm (4/21/03)
programming.chm (1/7/03)
PROGRAMMING.chw (5/6/03)
tutorials.chm (9/2/02)

I believe that programguide.chm is the master file and probably all files must be up-to-date. If deleting labtalk.chm allowed you to download it again with Check for Updates I'd try again after deleting all of the files dated 4/21/03 above. It might be better to move the files to a different folder instead of deleting them.

Hi Mike,

when I said deleted I should have said I moved the file. But moving EACH file and downloading the whole bunch again did the trick.

Funny enough the size of labtalk.chm is not the same as it was with my first TWO downloads today. The other .chm-files have the same size. So maybe it was just bad luck trying twice and getting the same mistake.

Thanks for your fast reply. Downloading three times did it.

Claudia

Hallo friends,
I had the same problem and I did solved it by manual download of the help files and add them in the help folder of the origin 7

I hope I find a homepage to load those files if anyone want to download them.

If anyone need those files so please for the moment contact me
