It seems like the name of column doesn't accept (),_ etc. I've tried to write something like "Spectral Distribution (nm)" as "SpectDist(nm)" in abbreviation but Origin totally ignores the brackets. There are also some instances when I need to write the alphabet as in any equation for easier understanding such as "Spectral Distribution P(nm)". Could you please tell me if it's possible to write such labels for columns! Thanks in advance!

Special characters, including brackets, are not allowed in column names but are allowed in column labels. The label will appear on the wks underneath the name and can also be used in place of the name in plot legends. Is that what you're looking for?
