Hi,
Origin 7.5, the latest version, has automation server support where other client applications that are capable of COM programming can send data back and forth with Origin and also send commands to Origin. This feature is supported in both Standard and Pro versions.
More information on this feature can be found at: http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?s=8&lm=+168
The product, and demo installations of Origin 7.5 include examples of how to connect and communicate with Origin from Excel, VB and National Instruments LabVIEW. The methods and properties are documented in the help files - if you download the demo, you will need to get the help files separately - please see demo download page for further instructions.
For versions older than 7.5, you will need to use DDE - documentation/examples for that is included with OriginPro.

Hi Evgeniy,
As I mentioned before, in version 7, you will need OriginPro to work with DDE.
In 7.5, Automation Server capability is available in both Standard and Pro versions - Pro has some additional methods to deal with multiple clients trying to access same instance of Origin.
Best option for you, I think, would be to upgrade to version 7.5.
For information on upgrade pricing, please see: http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?s=8&lm=+88

Hi Evgeniy,
The link you posted is for our distributor in UK - they may not have updated their website yet - Origin 7.5 started shipping only recently. You can call them and place the order - they are taking orders for new and upgrade sales as far as I know.
Thanks,
Easwar OriginLab.
