I have a quick question on Contour plot in Origin: I have two Matrices with the same dimension and would either plot them in the same graph or put two contour plot graphs on top of each other such that I can see both at the same time. Right now I see only one of them. Is there a way to do this with origin?
Right click on the layer icon (upper left corner of graph window) and select Layer Contents. Find the second matrix in the Available Data list and copy it to the Layer Contents by clicking the appropriate arrow.
I think the problem is 'seeing' both contours; not getting them into the layer.
If you have two matrices in a Contour Graph, they are drawn in the same sequence as they are shown in the Layer Contents. Each contour graph has separate properties that can be set. If both have Color Fill to Contours enabled, then the second matrix will completely cover the other if their X and Y ranges are identical. (We don't have color blending of two matrices as an option.) Without going to a two-layer solution (side-by-side layers for example), you could try the following:
Turn off the color fill for the second matrix and change its contour line colors. This actually might look better if both matrices had Color Fill disabled and you exclusively used Contour Line colors to distinguish the two.
