In Origin, it's more like the other way around: How do I associate a dataset with a particular axis. An axis is part of a layer. A layer is a set of 4 axes of which you can control the display of any one of these axes: bottom X, top X, left Y, right Y

To add datasets to a layer, use the layer -i command. To add layers to an existing graph, use layer -n.

Tip: Remember that you can hold down the Ctrl+Shift keys while selecting a menu, such as the "Edit:New Layer" menu, and the LabTalk script will be typed out to the Script Window. (The Script Window needs to be open; it is opened by selecting Window:Script Window.)

Hope this helps,
Laurie
