I'm trying to draw some 3D graph from a series of spectra. I found that the good looking 3D graphs can be generated from matrix. However, I can't find any script command to do that automatically. Since I'm dealing with rather a large set of data, I wish I could do that with Labtalk directly. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Jlang,

If your data are in worksheet, maybe you want to convert this data to a matrix in order to create some 3D plots.
So I suppose the following link might be helpful.

Thanks,
Sammi

Additionally, can you help me with some other problems:

Is there a way to find the zero slope (first derivative as 0) points in graphs easily? So far I can only use peak finding. But it doesn't work for the following situation:

What about in a 3D graph with multiple sets of Z's?

One last question for now: I followed you link and found that origin provids filter to "record" actions then generates labtalk script. But I can't find that menu item (File:import wizard) in my origin 6.1. Is this something only available in the latest version?

The Import Wizard was introduced in Origin 7.5.

So I guess there's no way to build script by "recording action" in the older versions.

Thanks for the info though.

There is no way to build script by 'recording action' in Origin 7.5 either. The Import Wizard merely creates filters which can be used later on to import files of the same type/specification (extension).
