I get the follwoing error message, when fitting my data with a user-defined function:
"There is(are) zero or small y value(s) and this is not consistent with the chosen weighting method".
This occurred with statistical weighting, instrumental or using anarbitrary data set. The fitting procedure worked OK if I use no weighting. So probably it is not a problem of the fit function.
Any advise to prevent this error is welcome.

Hi gdroogmans,

This is most likely a "divide by zero" problem. See this forum post for more information: http://www.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2951

Note that weighting methods are outlined in the Origin Help file topic Before you Start: The Chi-Square Minimization.
