Hello, All
is it possible to install OriginPro7.5 twice on the same machine?
What I want to do is to set up a "working" configuration that is for analysis, working purpose only and parallel to that configuration a "development" configuration only for development and testing and OPK creation and maintenance.
The idea was to install the whole OriginPro7.5 package twice (parallel) on one computer with different user directories and Origin directories to keep them totally seperate.
Calling The setup routine from CD only the repair option was shown, but no total new installation ...
That really would ease maintenence of OPK packages and development a lot if that would be possible somehow!
An other possibility would be to define the user directory as a parameter of the comandline at startup. Is there a hidden option or something else in short term available?
Any hint?

Hi Hajo,
As you've found, you can't install multiple times on the same computer. I think the only solution is for you to run Origin using multiple Windows log in accounts, and for each log in account, specify a different User Files Folder when you first start Origin.
This assumes that you selected the "All Users" option when you installed Origin. You can check this by opening the InstInfo.ini file located in your Origin program folder. If needed, change LogonUserName to AllUsers, like this:
LogonUserName=AllUsers
and then save the ini file.

Did I get you right, that I will have to set up a new Windows login accout ? This is impossible as my WinXP is part of an plant net centrally managed and there's only one account for one user available all over the world!! We can logon on all PC's at the plant so the profile is unique!
Any other hints?

We had another thought on this. We were thinking you could use a bat file to swap user file folder names at startup. I'm going to email you directly on this.
