Hi, Im using origin 6.0 professional to create multiple XYZ worksheets. Im doing molecular simulation and I want to draw a 3D diagram of the surface energy of a material.
Using my simulation program I input x, y coordinates of the surface and the program gives me the energy of the specific location. I do this surface scan changing the x coordinate which has range from 11 to 15,4 then I change the y coordinate and do the scan again. So I have multiple worksheets like this
worksheet 1 11,0 5 6,07856767 11,2 5 6,34564378 .... 5 5,34653678 15.2 5 6,36732567 15,4 5 6,45756878
worksheet 2 11,0 5,2 6,24423675 11,2 5,2 5,25752345 .... 5,2 6,21837461 .... 5,2 5,24245752 15,2 5,2 6,23454523 15,4 5,2 6,23452435
My goal is to create a 3D diagram which represents the surface energy. This plot should be like a valley with hills or holes or something similar. Im a new origin user so I need your help to complete my task.
Thank you all in advance
Ps) sorry for my terrible English

Hi luigi_gr:
It sounds as though all you need to do is to combine your XYZ data sets into a single worksheet and then convert the worksheet to an Origin matrix using the Edit:Convert to Matrix:Regular XYZ menu command. Then, with the matrix as the active window, you can create your plot using the Plot 3D menu item.
If you are new to 3D graphing in Origin, I would suggest that you have a look at this tech review article on matrices.
