Origin Version: 7.5 pro Operating System: XP pro
When I deselect "show axis and ticks" for a graph, the ticks don't show, but the axis does.
In the example I tried, if I deselect show axis for the right axis, the ticks disappear, but not the axis. If, however, I deselect both the right and left axes, both axes and tick sets disappear.
Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?

Hi Matt,
Could you please tell your release version of 7.5? E.g. 7.5Sr4. I tried with E 7.5Sr4 pro in EXP and E2000, but I could not repruduce your problem.
Thanks, Sammi |

I am using Origin 7.5 Sr4, with Windows XP Pro, without service pack 2 (which is installing now).
Below is a copy of a graph where the right axis&ticks "show" is unchecked. Instead, only the ticks are gone.

Hi Matt,
Double-click on the left Y axis to bring up the Axes dialog for the left Y axis, then click on the Grid Lines tab. If the "Opposite" checkbox under Additional Lines is checked, then that could be the problem - an opposite line is being drawn, and so even though you turned the right axis off, this line is still showing.

Thanks,
that was it.
I checked all of my templates, and they all have this checked in 7.5. In 7.0, which is running on my computer as well, they aren't checked. I find this odd, since I copied all of the templates over from 7.0-->7.5 when I installed 7.5.

Most Origin 7.5 (and 7) templates were shipped with Opposite UNCHECKED. Maybe you are using a Theme that has that property turned on?
