Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.0 SR0 Operating System:WinXP pro
Hi, everyone. I was trying to plot a double X-axis graph. One X-axis is linear. The other is not linear or log or any distribution given in the "type" box in the "scale" tab of axis properties. Therefore, I have to put special ticks on the secondary X-axis to make it corresponding to the first X-axis. Unfortunately I could only set up one special tick on the axis. My question is how to set up multiple special ticks or is there any way to go around. Thanks a lot.

| A site search on "two axis" turned up these articles that might be helpful... |

The labelling method discussed in the forum topic is possible in 7.0 SR4. I think it also works in earlier 7.0 builds and possibly earlier versions of Origin.

Thanks for the help. I did figured out to customize the secondary x-axis scale. Now I come to another question: can it be done in a way that shows both major and minor ticks? Thanks again.

Of course it's possible to show both major and minor ticks but it doesn't seem possible to create custom labels for the minor ticks.

It worked fine in the Origin. But if I used the copy page function and copy the page to a word file. It may even look all right. However, when I printed out I found the secondary x-axis shows the same step size as first x-axis (in Origin it shows different step size)? Can you give me any idea?

Hi louwee,
You may have encountered a bug. We would have to investigate further to find out if that is the case.
In the meantime, rather than using the Copy Page command, try exporting the graph from Origin (File:Export Page) as a WMF file. In Word, do an Insert:Picture:From File and see how that does.

It works fine in that way, i.e. exporting the page as a picture. Thanks.

Okay, glad that worked for you.
It would be a good idea to have someone in OriginLab's tech support department look at this. If you can do so, please send a copy of the OPJ with the problem graph to tech@originlab.com. Explain your problem, and -- if you would -- identify your Windows OS, the version of Word, and the printer that are using. Please point to this forum post.
Thank you.
