Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 2018 Pro
Operating System: Win 7 64

Hello,

I have a seemingly too easy problem that I just can't solve. My attempt is to simply stack 5 columns of Y data (1000 rows each), that are in different sheet in the same book, in a different book and sheet in one column. I have tried range notation for referring to these columns, but there may be syntax issues. But also the wstackcol function does not work. Whenever I select all five columns in the input line, I get an error message that I need to select at least two columns, surprisingly.

Sure, I could just copy and paste obviously, but I would like to have this step automatized.

Thanks

Ben Adam

Hello,

Stack column only works for data in same worksheet.

For your case, you can use Append worksheets feature in Origin. It can append specified columns in each sheet row by row or column by column.

Try this:
Choose Worksheet: Append Worksheet menu.
In the dialog, click the > in Worksheet box and choose Sheets in Book
Set Range to be Specified Columns. And click the > button in Columns box to select which column you want to merge. I suppose they all have the same column name.
Set Append by: Row.
Click > in Output Worksheet box and choose New Book.

Thanks, Snow

Snow,

appreciate the quick reply. Yes, that worked, I guess I never used the append function. Even better, since it is Labtalk, I can build it in better.

Thanks!
