I would like to depict some negative data as a bar graph, where the columns are "stuck" to the upper axis.
I tried to invert the axes scaling but it didn't help.
Is there a quick way to do it?

Alexander.

Hi Alexander,

This might work for you to make thecolumns of negative
values hung from the top X axis...

1) Double click the X axis to show the Axis dialog,
and choose Title&Format tab.
2) Select % From Bottom at Axis Position, then OK.
3) Grab the X axis and move the axis to the top position

Hi,

this works well for a few bars. But I try to draw rainfall data set the way Alexander described it. Its a few hundred bars. They look perfect as a default bar plot, but when I try to turn them upside down I get sort of a black background and a few white bars in the default postion. The program, however, shows me the background as data plot (means, if I double click the black field the drawing details show up. A complete mess! What do you suggest?

Hi Claas,

I have tried a plot with 300 data points, and see no problem. Is the "a few white bars in the default postion" you mentioned a kind of moire'-like pattern caused by the display resolution - can be resolved when you print out on the paper?
If you still see the problem, it might be a phenomenon specific to your data or environment, or like that. Then, I suggest to contact the technical support of Additive GmbH in Germann where you purchased the copy of Origin. When you do that, please provide them with your OS version, your Origin version and build number (Help:About Origin) and information on how to reproduce the problems you see. (Your OPJ file and/or the screenshot will also help them to reproduce the problem.)
