I have Origin 7.5, Windows 2000

Hello!
Is it possible to save graphs in Origin 7.5 as an older version, particulary 7.0

The point is that after pasting the graphs to MS Word, they cannot be changed in version 7.0

Thanks in advance!

Mariusz

Hi Mariusz,

It is possible to save Origin project files as ORG files (very old format) but that should not be necessary. I created a graph with Origin 7.5 SR5, did a Edit:Copy Page and a paste into MS Word (2000). I renamed my Origin 7.5 folders (I have multiple versions of Origin on my machine), launched Origin 7.0 (just for "good measure" -- not certain that that would have been necessary), and double-clicked on the pasted graph in MS Word. It opened in Origin 7.0 and I was able to edit the graph in Origin and return to Word. The Word doc graph image was updated to reflect my edits.

What I DID see was that the graph expanded greatly in size when I returned to Word and I THINK that this is due to some tweaks that were made to the OLE code in Origin to accomodate Windows XP/Office 2003. You should be able to simply resize the graph in Word and I think you will be "good to go."

Let us know if that doesn't work for you.

I sent some data to somebody and he couldn't make any changes as I described above. He is going to check wheather it will work on another computer.

Best wishes

Hi Mariusz,

One thought: Make sure that the file is not "read-only."

If you find that the problem continues, I would contact OriginLab tech support (tech@originlab.com). Please include the project file, your serial number and point to this forum thread.

Thanks.
